This is *the* text for complier design in the computer industry. Referred to in popular media as the dragon book it has an almost religous following by the great programmers in the industry. This exhaustive text will introduce advance topics to the intermediate programmer and to the experienced alike. Although not an introductory work by any stretch of the imagination it will allow for the intermediate programmer to get a rudimentary grasp of the subject. A great example of the best writing that can be done by some of the great minds of our field.
Classic book on compilers. It's dated, but has all the fundamentals. As a side note, I've noticed this very book on the bookshelves of just about every computer scientist I've ever talked to (in their office).
Classic. I used this book in college and covered it entirely. I had to have a copy of it and it's still one of the best textbooks I had/have.
This book is a great reference. If one ever has to write a compiler for a specific purpose, this book should be in your reference library.
ok but dated. I bought it for the lex and yacc examples and simple compiler ideas on embedding a very small language into an ARM m4 product.
Too specialized for me.
I am doing this course for my master's degree in computer science (didn't do it on my first degree) and this book is amazing.It's so clear with great examples!Highly recommended!
